Third Party Quality Control
Background: Air Quality of New Mexico strives to avoid conflict of interest.
For instance, should we find significant evidence of mold colonization,
we would recommend another company to perform the remediation.
Currently, water restoration companies, demolition companies and some
mold remediators do not exercise the precautionary measures according
to IESO or IAQA. When proceeding without proper protocol, mold spores
are spread into many other spaces previously uncontaminated. For instance,
opening a closed wall cavity can quickly spread spores to all parts
of the building. In fact, by just reducing the relative humidity (RH)
too rapidly, some spores detect a dramatic RH change and immediately
begin expelling spores leading to more contamination.
Air Quality of New Mexico will sample and test all remediation areas
and provide laboratory results directly to the Owner and Remediators
with proof that the area(s) are clean (Cleared or Compliant) or not
clean (Clearance denied or Noncompliant) in accordance with the American
Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) guidelines
